Cases of maternal mortality in the world are still very high. About 25-50% of maternal deaths are caused by problems related to pregnancy. In this case, the husband's role is the key to success. The husband's support given to his wife is a real form of the husband's concern and responsibility in the lives of his wife and children. How much does the husband know about the role of assistance in pregnancy until the birth process? The research results show that 93.3% of husbands have good knowledge, but the participation rate is only 63.3%, so there is still a need for counseling, considering the many benefits of the husband's accompanying role during the wife's pregnancy. The aim is to increase the participation and involvement of husbands in the care/care of pregnant women. Communicative information technique method and using 4 approaches, namely planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation, activities were carried out at the Smata Health Center, Gowa Regency with a total of 20 participants. The results show that the average score after counseling is better than before providing education. Average value; Good knowledge (88%), compared to before (67%), so it can be concluded that there is an increase in husbands' knowledge regarding the role of accompanying husbands during their wives' pregnancy.
2025-02-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JCS http://jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/132 Pendampingan Pijat Oketani Dalam Meningkatan Produksi ASI Pada Ibu Nifas Di Kabupaten Bulukumba 2025-02-09T22:42:15+00:00 Husnul Khatima husnulkhatimaidris27@gmail.com Kurniati Akhfar husnulkhatimahidris27@gmail.com
Exclusive breastfeeding has great benefits for babies and mothers. However, some postpartum mothers experience problems in the breastfeeding process, such as poor breast milk production and ineffective latching. One method that can help overcome this problem is oketani massage. Oketani massage is a lactation massage technique that can help increase breast milk production by stimulating the mammary glands and improving blood flow in the breast area. In this case, community service activities aim to accompany postpartum mothers in applying the oketani massage technique to increase breastfeeding success by involving the husband's role as the main supporter as an alternative solution to breastfeeding problems in the community. This service was carried out in Paenre Lompoe Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency with 5 postpartum mothers and their husbands participating. The methods used include counseling, demonstrations and direct practical assistance. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the benefits of oketani massage and their ability to apply the technique independently. With this assistance, it is hoped that postpartum mothers and husbands will be more confident in providing support for the success of exclusive breastfeeding and overcoming the lactation problems they face.
2025-02-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JCS http://jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/130 Peningkatan Pemahaman Mahasiswa Tentang Makanan Cepat Saji Terhadap Kesehatan Di Universitas Almarisah Madani 2025-02-08T06:38:46+00:00 Fitri Adriani Fitrial795@gmail.com Lilis Suryani Fitrial795@gmail.com Musfira Dahlan Fitrial795@gmail.com Ningsi Angraeni Fitrial795@gmail.com Miranty S Fitrial795@gmail.com
Fast food or fast food is also known to the public as junk food. Based on research results, 93.5% of students are obese and there is a relationship between irregular eating patterns and eating instant food too often and the incidence of obesity. This can be caused by a lack of awareness that consuming fast food has a negative impact on body health. Adolescents' knowledge of fast food consumption is one of the causes of health problems in adolescents as a result of consuming fast food. So it is necessary to carry out community service activities by providing education to students which aims to increase students' understanding of fast food on health. This community service activity was carried out at Almarisah Madani University DIII Midwifery Study Program in January 2025. This activity uses an educational method with several stages, preparation, implementation and evaluation. The target is 20 students. This activity shows that education about fast food on health has increased knowledge among students from 40% who had good knowledge before the service and increased to 80% after the activity was carried out.
2025-01-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JCS http://jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/133 Kolaborasi Pengabdian Masyarakat Multidisiplin: Edukasi Bahasa, Riset, dan Penyuluhan Kesehatan di SMP Negeri 23 Senopi, Papua Barat Daya 2025-02-11T02:00:57+00:00 Sri Ningsih sriningsih@aktabe.ac.id Uus Faizal Firdaussy uusf001@brin.go.id Jusni Jusni Unhy.ijazn@gmail.com Enkin Asrawijaya enki001@brin.go.id Erniawati Erniawati erniawati78@gmail.com
Community engagement is one of the practical implementations of scientific knowledge that directly impacts society. The methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, practical simulations, and mentoring in basic research activities. The results of the program showed an improvement in students' understanding across these three aspects, indicated by enhanced communication skills, increased awareness of the importance of research in daily life, and behavioral changes related to healthy living practices. This collaboration demonstrates that synergy between research institutions and midwifery academia can significantly contribute to community empowerment through educational and research-based approaches.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JCS http://jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/136 Penyuluhan dan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan Pada Ibu Hamil Kurang Energi Kronis 2025-03-28T05:22:30+00:00 Kurniati Akhfar uneeakhfar208@gmail.com Alfiah Uneeakhfar208@gmail.com Irma Suryani Saleh Uneeakhfar208@gmail.com Hildayanti Uneeakhfar208@gmail.com
Nutritional problems that often occur in pregnant women are Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), which can have a negative impact on the health of the mother and fetus. Globally, around one in eight pregnant women experience CED, with a significant prevalence in several regions, including Indonesia. CED in pregnant women can cause nutritional imbalances that lead to complications in childbirth, premature birth, low birth weight (LBW), and neonatal death. One effort to overcome CED is by providing additional food (PMT), which aims to increase the energy and protein intake of pregnant women. This community service aims to increase the knowledge of pregnant women regarding the importance of PMT and to monitor changes in the nutritional status of pregnant women who experience CED. The method used in this community service is counseling regarding CED and PMT for pregnant women at the Ponre Health Center. Before the intervention, nutritional status was measured using the Upper Arm Circumference (LILA). The results showed that after the counseling, there was an increase in the knowledge of pregnant women regarding CED and the benefits of PMT. Although changes in nutritional status have not been seen in a short time, it is hoped that pregnant women and the community can process and consume appropriate food ingredients to improve nutritional adequacy. With the assistance, it is expected that pregnant women can maintain optimal nutritional status for the health of the mother and the baby born.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JCS
