Abstract
Stunting remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia, including in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. Data from the 2023 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey shows that the national prevalence of stunting is 24.2%, while Bulukumba recorded 23.6%, which is higher than the national average and the WHO standard. This condition highlights the urgent need for effective nutritional interventions, one of which is nutrition education on healthy food preparation for families with children aged 0–2 years. This community service activity was carried out on September 9, 2025, at the Bontomacinna Village Office with 25 participants. The methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, simulations/practical demonstrations of nutritious food preparation, as well as question-and-answer and evaluation sessions. Prior to the training, a baseline assessment was conducted to measure participants’ knowledge, while post-training evaluation and satisfaction assessments were conducted afterward. The results showed a significant improvement: participants’ understanding of nutrition and stunting increased from 40% to 90%, skills in preparing nutritious meals rose from 30% to 95%, and satisfaction levels reached 100%. In conclusion, nutrition education combined with hands-on practice proved effective in improving the knowledge, skills, and motivation of the Bontomacinna Village community in preventing stunting. This activity is expected to contribute to reducing stunting prevalence at the village level, while also supporting the government’s target to lower the national stunting rate as outlined in the Medium-Term National Development Plan
